I forgot my username and password, how can I reset it?

Unfortunately there is no way to reset it without logging in. Your data is encrypted with your master password, which never leaves your device, so it can't be recovered — but there are a few things you can try.

Updated October 19, 2026 Easy Password Storage

Your data is encrypted with your master password, which is kept locally on your device and is never sent over the internet. That’s what makes Easy Password Storage secure, but it also makes it impossible to recover your data without the master password.

Things you can try

  • Check your password hint. If you remember your username and set a password hint, it will show when you log in to that account with the wrong password.
  • Import a plain-text export. If you ever exported your passwords to plain text, create a new account and import them.
  • Use another device that’s still logged in. If you’ve synced to another device that is still logged in, or that has “Save Password” turned on, log in there and find your master password under Account Settings.
  • Check your other password managers. If you’ve used another password manager, you may have saved your Easy Password Storage password there.
  • Switched from an old non-App Store version? If you used a very old version of the app from outside the App Store and later switched to the App Store version, the new version may not be seeing your saved data. If you had “Remember Username” or “Remember Password” turned on, that data might contain them. Contact support and we’ll send instructions to find and restore it.
  • Send us your data file. If you can find the app’s data file, we may be able to find your username in it, but not your password. Contact support for instructions on finding the file and sending it to us.
